SCOTTSDALE, AZ – With just two games remaining in the AFL season, the Scottsdale Scorpions (11-20) again stumbled and further extended their tough skid with Wednesday’s 8-0 shutout to the Surprise Saguaros (16-14) at Scottsdale Stadium. The Scorpions have dropped four straight games and 10 of their last 11 since Oct. 31.
SCOTTSDALE, AZ – Adrian Sampson (PIT) pitched a perfect fourth inning and Dan Gamache (PIT) collected a pair of hits for the Scottsdale Scorpions (11-18), before a tightly-contested matchup got out of hand late in an 8-4 Salt River Rafters (17-9) win on Monday afternoon at Salt River Fields.
SURPRISE, AZ – Pirates righty Tyler Glasnow was strong in the early goings while fellow Buccos prospects Dan Gamache and Elias Diaz combined for each of the Scottsdale Scorpions (10-16) three runs, but the combined efforts weren’t enough in a 5-3 loss to the Peoria Javelinas (11-13) on Thursday afternoon at Surprise Stadium.

SURPRISE, AZ – Pirates prospects Josh Bell (2H, RBI), Elias Diaz (2H, 2RBI) and Dan Gamache (1H, R) combined for five hits, one run and three RBI in a loss on Friday, Tyler Glasnow (3.0IP), Angel Sanchez (2.0IP) and Adrian Sampson (1.0IP) tossed six consecutive scoreless innings in Saturday’s defeat and the Scottsdale Scorpions suffered an 0-2 sweep during their weekend series with Glendale (4-4) and Peoria (3-6).
MESA, AZ – Pirates left Joely Rodriguez fired three shutout innings, Josh Bell (PIT) turned in his second straight multi-hit game and the Scottsdale Scorpions (5-2) outslugged the Mesa Solar Sox (1-5) 10-7 on Tuesday afternoon at Cubs Park.
SURPRISE, AZ – All nine batters hit safely during Friday’s win, Pirates farmhand Dan Gamache extended his hitting streak to 10 games on Saturday and the Scottsdale Scorpions (3-2) swept a weekend set with one-run wins over the Glendale Desert Dogs (1-3) and the Surprise Saguaros (3-2).
