SCOTTSDALE, AZ – Powered by Dan Bichette’s (NYY) 3-for-5, two-RBI performance on Thursday, the Scottsdale Scorpions (12-20) came full circle to close out the 2014 campaign in identical fashion to their 2014 AFL opener – with a victory over the Salt River Rafters (17-11).

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – Pirates right-hander Angel Sanchez made his third straight appearance without an earned run (one run) and Josh Bell (PIT) and Dan Gamache (PIT) reached safely as two of only eight Scottsdale Scorpions (7-7) baserunners in a 9-3 thumping by the Mesa Solar Sox (7-6) on Wednesday night at Scottsdale Stadium.
SURPRISE, AZ – Pirates prospects Josh Bell (2H, RBI), Elias Diaz (2H, 2RBI) and Dan Gamache (1H, R) combined for five hits, one run and three RBI in a loss on Friday, Tyler Glasnow (3.0IP), Angel Sanchez (2.0IP) and Adrian Sampson (1.0IP) tossed six consecutive scoreless innings in Saturday’s defeat and the Scottsdale Scorpions suffered an 0-2 sweep during their weekend series with Glendale (4-4) and Peoria (3-6).
