On Tuesday night, the two first place teams faced off in Durham and thanks to a dominate performance by The Tribe’s Nick Kingham the Indians won 2-1.
Indianapolis Indians started off their 10 games in 10 days road trip with two wins, before defeating the Norfolk Tides on Sunday in the 12th inning and then losing the series finale on Monday. Tribe starter Casey Sadler was looking to extend his career-high win streak from four to five, but the Tides kept the game close answering run for run until the 12th when the Indians walked away with a 5-4 victory.
Adam Wilk won his third consecutive game for the Indianapolis Indians as he pitched his third straight quality outing against the Norfolk Tides on Saturday evening.
Jake Brigham was reinstated from the disabled list to start for the Indianapolis Indians in their first game of the road trip against the Norfolk Tides. It was a pitcher’s duel as Brigham and Tides’ starter Nick Additon held the other team to no runs until the fourth. It was during that single inning that both pitchers gave up a single run, but both runs were unearned. The game remained tied until the ninth when the Tides’ scored to end the game.
After winning the first two games against the Durham Bulls, the Indianapolis Indians split the series before hosting the Gwinnett Braves for four games to complete an eight-game home stand.
