Brigham returns as Indians lose on walk off

Jake Brigham was reinstated from the disabled list to start for the Indianapolis Indians in their first game of the road trip against the Norfolk Tides.

It was a pitcher’s duel as Brigham and Tides’ starter Nick Additon held the other team to no runs until the fourth. It was during that single inning that both pitchers gave up a single run, but both runs were unearned. The game remained tied until the ninth when the Tides’ scored to end the game.

Brigham’s first outing back lasted four innings with one run on two hits. He struck out six batters and walked one.

Jay Jackson pitched four innings giving up only a single hit. Wirfin Obispo was the pitcher in the ninth when the Tides’ scored on a RBI single by Xavier Paul.

Chris Dickerson scored the Tribe’s only run. Dickerson (2), Matt Hague (1) and Tony Sanchez (2) combined for the Tribe’s five hits.

Game two of the road trip begins at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday night. Adam Wilk is on the mound looking for his third straight win.
