Men’s soccer rallies from behind to beat Taylor

The men’s soccer team traveled to Taylor University on Tuesday night where they beat a struggling Trojan team 3-2 and have now won three straight games.

The Trojans, who are 0-3-1, in the Crossroads League, scored the only goal of the first half.  Spring Arbor keeper Billy Irvine gave up two goals while making three saves over the course of the match.

The men started the second half on a rampage and would score two goals within a minute of one another. David Edwardson scored the first Cougar goal. The second goal was scored by Joel Musambi with an assist from Jeffery Addai.

Taylor would respond with a goal nearing the end of the match, but the men would not let the Trojans walk away victorious. Just a few minutes after giving up a goal, Patrick Rose scored the final goal for the Cougars.

The Cougars have improved to a record of 3-0-1 in the Crossroads League and will head to Ohio to face off against a 2-1-1 Mount Vernon Nazarene University team on Oct. 6.
