Indianapolis Indians host former Cincinnati Red Eric Davis for “Signature Saturday”

One of the popular promotions at Victory Field is “Signature Saturdays.” The Indianapolis Indians hosted former Cincinnati Reds outfielder Eric Davis on April 26 prior to a game against the Syracuse Chiefs.

Davis had a short stint with the Indians in 1983. He appeared in 19 games with the Tribe, batting .299 (23-for-77) with 18 runs, seven homers, 19 RBIs and nine steals.

Indians lose first series of season against Louisville over holiday weekend

The Indianapolis Indians, the only Pittsburgh Pirates affiliate team to play on Easter Sunday, earned their first series loss of the season to the Louisville Bats, as they were defeated 4-2 on Saturday and 5-1 on Sunday before earning the extra-inning walk-off victory on Monday night.

It seems as though the Bats are the team that is most difficult for the Tribe to beat at home – pulling out Monday night’s victory by the skin of their teeth, after dropping games one and two of the series.
