The Tigers host the Kansas City Royals for a three-game series (August 4-6) and will finish up the homestand with a three-game weekend series against the Boston Red Sox (August 7-9). The games on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday are scheduled for 7:08 p.m., while Thursday and Sunday’s games start at 1:08 p.m.

Willie Horton Batting for Kids is a baseball challenge that hosts over 400 children ages 5-15 providing the opportunity to compete in a baseball competition that includes base running, hitting and throwing. Additionally, the children will participate in baseball demonstration clinics, calisthenics stations and a speed pitch machine. Participating youth compete in 12 different baseball skill activities. Individual awards are given to the top boy and girl in each age division for hitting, throwing and base running. Participants also have the opportunity to participate in demonstration clinics.

The Tigers host the Pittsburgh Pirates for a three-game series (June 30-July 2) and will finish up the homestand with a three-game weekend series against the Toronto Blue Jays (July 3-5). Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s games are scheduled for 7:08 p.m., while Thursday’s, Saturday’s and Sunday’s games start at 1:08 p.m.

Tigers pitching coach Jeff Jones along with assistant hitting coach David Newhan, third base coach Dave Clark and strength and conditioning coordinator Kyle Bergman will host a youth baseball clinic for 90 children from the Woodbridge Community Center as a part of the Tigers “Play Baseball Detroit” program.

HOMESTAND FEATURES KIDS OPENING DAY, AUTISM AWARENESS AND NEGRO LEAGUES WEEKEND The Tigers return to Comerica Park from a six-game road trip to begin a 10-game homestand Friday night. The Tigers will open the homestand against the Chicago White Sox (April 17-19), while the New York Yankees will visit for a four-game series (April 20-23) and the homestand concludes with three games against the Cleveland Indians (April 24-26). First pitches for the first three games of the homestand against the White Sox are scheduled for 1:08 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday’s games against the Yankees start at 7:08 p.m. and the series concludes with a 1:08 p.m. game on Thursday. On Friday, April 24, the game against the Indians starts 7:08 p.m. while Saturday and Sunday’s contests begin at 1:08 p.m.
