A Loss to IWU…Sucks!

Howdy Cougars! Indiana Wesleyan was next in line for our men’s basketball team to play in the MCC tournament.

IWU was the number one seed, where as our Cougars were number five. This game could have been a huge upset and I know that’s the outcome that I would have prefered than the loss that the Cougars suffered.

Their tournament ended on Saturday and I was devastated. The boys lost 76-72. It was a close game, it just wasn’t enough. I hate it when that happens.

It sucks knowing that you play really, really hard, yet you can’t come out with a win. I never like being in those situations. It was such a close game and it definitely could have gone either way.

The seniors, DJ Baisden and Willie Pickvet, both played really well, with Baisden leading all scorers with 25 points. Pickvet had a total of 19 points. It’s hard knowing that these two won’t be there to lead the team next year.

I guess that means the underclassmen are going to have to step up. They definitely stepped it up for the Huntington game and I can’t wait to see what they do for the next year. I love going to basketball games and I am looking forward to seeing a new team mesh together.

We’re just waiting on the news of where the boys will be playing again, there are two more options for tournaments that they could be playing in, so I think that you should stay tuned.

Catch ya later, Cougs!
