RECENT RESULTS: The Tigers lost game two of their series against the Yankees 5-2 on Tuesday night at Comerica Park. J.D. Martinez had a team-high three hits, including a double, and scored two runs for Detroit. Alex Avila and Anthony Gose each added two hits in the loss. Kyle Lobstein started for the Tigers and took the loss despite allowing only one run on three hits with four walks and three strikeouts in 6.0 innings. The Tigers and Yankees play game three of their four-game series tonight. Following the series vs. New York, the Tigers close their homestand this weekend with a three-game set vs. Cleveland.

QUALITY WORK FROM LOBSTEIN: Kyle Lobstein recorded his first quality start of 2015 on Tuesday night, allowing just one run on three hits with four walks and three strikeouts in 6.0 innings. In two starts this season, Lobstein has compiled a 1-1 record with a 3.27 ERA (11.0IP/4ER) and six strikeouts.

START ME UP: The Tigers starting rotation has posted several impressive performances in the first weeks of the season. STREAKING: Nick Castellanos and Rajai Davis each enter tonight’s game on a hitting streak. Castellanos has hit safely in nine straight games, which is the longest hitting streak of his career and is tied for the second-longest active hitting streak in the big leagues. Davis is batting .292 (7×24) with three runs scored, one double, one home run and four RBI.

TWO FOR THE PRICE OF ONE: The Tigers turned two double plays in last night’s loss. Detroit has turned 16 double plays this season, which is tied for the second most in the American League, trailing only the Yankees, who have recorded 17 double plays.

MIGGY MASHES VS. THE YANKEES: Miguel Cabrera has enjoyed facing the Yankees in his career. Cabrera leads all active players with a .688 slugging percentage vs. the Yankees, while he is second with a .408 on-base percentage and third with a .337 batting average. Cabrera has hit safely in 44 of 55 career games against the Yankees.

  • In recognition of Law Enforcement Night, the Detroit Tigers offered a special ticket package for tonight’s contest that included an upper box infield, mezzanine or lower baseline box ticket, a 2015 Detroit Tigers/Law Enforcement Challenge coin as well as a $10 donation to the National Law Enforcement Museum.
  • The national anthem will be performed by vocalist Brendan Moore, a detective in the Ferndale Police Department.
  • The colors will be presented by the Kent County Metro Honor Guard and at the conclusion of the national anthem a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Blackhawk helicopter will be doing a flyover.
