SUPER BOWL…a few months early

Hey Cougars! He’s at the 30, 20, 10. He SCORED.

If you don’t know what that lingo is for, or haven’t caught on by the title, flag football season has just come to an end. On a very cold night on November 3 exciting games occurred at nearby Western High School. We got to play under the lights on a real football field. Sounds super cool, doesn’t it?

There was an All-Star game held first at 8 p.m. Then there was a women’s game at 9 p.m. It was between the teams of Gamma Wing in Lowell with Muffitt Hall and the Villages with the Beta Wing in Lowell. The final score was 24-12 with Gamma/Muffitt losing by only 2 touchdowns. The men’s game started at 10 p.m. That’s so late!!!

The guys of 1 West 2 South in University Hall played the boys of 4 South. The entire game was back and forth and at the very end 1 West 2 South came out on top. They defeated 4 South 42-32. It was an impressively high score.

The intramural staff does a wonderful job organizing events. They had hot chocolate (they ran out before the guys’ game started…brr), popcorn and Rice Krispie treats for everyone that showed up. All of the fans were bundled up in winter coats, hats, gloves and some even had blankets. It was so cold you could see your breath.

Intramurals are a super cool part of campus life. I suggest getting involved. You never know who you’ll meet and you might even win a free t-shirt (that’s my favorite part – free Cougar apparel) and you even get some bragging rights.

Catch ya later, Cougs!
