Howdy to all you Cougars out there! By a show of hands, how many of you were ready for summer to come because you were ready for some of your mum’s home-cooked meals?
I would raise my hand to that. That’s not to say that Spring Arbor has bad food it’s; actually some of the best. But our mums know exactly what we like and they always cook with some extra love. There is nothing like coming home from a long day at work (to earn some extra money to pay for those textbooks) and know that your mum was cooking for you.
I couldn’t wait to come home and be treated to some home cooked meals, and maybe a few desserts too. Most of my time was spent catching up with the family that I missed dearly and most days I slept in just a little bit longer to catch up on losing sleep studying for finals.
The difference between how I felt in May when I left campus and how I feel now in August is exponential. I’m ready to start eating campus food again, losing a little sleep studying and catching up with friends. The more I think about getting back on campus the quicker the days seem to disappear.
Please remember to treasure your last few moments with your family because the next time you see them could be weeks from now (and the same goes for your next home cooked meal!).
Catch ya later, Cougs!
