Students are sitting outside on blankets working on homework; they have shed their sweatshirts and jackets in for t-shirts all because of sunshine and high temperatures.
It’s November and instead of feeling like a cold fall day in Michigan, it feels like a late summer day in August.
Chad Philson said, “I’m so happy it’s warm outside. I can wear a t-shirt instead of a sweatshirt.”
Like most students across campus, Philson was able to wear a t-shirt and shorts.
Students were also sitting outside enjoying the weather. Some had set out blankets to do homework on and others were just spending time with their friends.
Elise Groholski said, “We did homework for two hours and then people watched for a while.”
Due to the nice weather, more people were outside and Groholski and her friends could sit around and watch everyone walking about.
“It’s nice not having to wear a sweatshirt and a jacket,” said Groholski.
Even though the weather has been nice, it is quite confusing. Around this time last year, the weather was freezing. The students playing flag football played in sweatpants and jackets. They could also see their breath on some days. It was almost miserable to be outside.
Sarah Crowl said, “I’m pretty sure Michigan is confused about what month it is.”
Crowl isn’t the only one. Lots of students are perplexed by the weather and hoping that the winter isn’t freezing. Some are expecting a snowstorm to come soon because the nice weather can’t last all winter.
There is a saying, if you don’t like the weather in Michigan wait five minutes. By waiting five minutes, students could be pulling out winter jackets, gloves and scarves because snow will be covering the ground.
