McDonald’s at Midnight

Hey Cougs! One of the awesome things about Spring Arbor is how close McDonald’s is to campus. Didn’t make it to dinner on time? Only had a salad at dinner and wanted something more? Want a midnight snack and have no food in your room? Well all of that can be cured by a short trip to the McDonald’s that is across the street from campus.

After Hanging of the Greens, while hanging out with friends in the lobby, one of my friends came up to me asking if I wanted to go to Mickey D’s. How could I resist? I was looking to get a Coca-Cola fix, since the campus is a Pepsi campus (not that I’m going to complain, that means Mountain Dew).

The McDonald’s drive thru is open 24 hours. It’s really cool because students are allowed to walk through the drive thru which is not allowed at most fast food restaurants. Walking through the drive thru is always an adventure. Trying to cross M-60, standing in the freezing cold or finding out that they are out of carbonation, you never know what is going to happen on a late night trip to Mickey D’s.

This adventure was cold and it included getting stuck between cars that were actually driving through the drive thru. Being able to get burgers and fries late at night is always exciting, but getting to go with friends and sharing the adventure of walking through the slush since the snow was melting and trying not to fall makes these moments even better.

Catch ya later, Cougs!
