Joseph Schooling of Jacksonville (Florida) Bolles School his own posted national record for the 100-yard Butterfly at the Florida High School Athletic Association High School State Championship meet.

The record time had been lowered twice already this season. In the preliminary race of the championship meet, he finished with a time of 45.90, while the fastest time of 45.89, was set by club teammate Caeleb Dressel on September 28.

Schooling won the finals by more than four seconds while setting the new record at 45.52.
