Indians win second game of home stand, 6-1

On Tuesday night the Indianapolis Indians proved that all though they may have a quieter offense one day, the next day is completely different. The Buffalo Bisons were on the losing side of game two of the four game series as the Tribe took home the 6-1 victory.

Tony Sanchez contributed to the Indians’ offense with two doubles and two RBIs. Matt Hague reached base four times with two walks and two hits, one of which was a solo home run. Chris McGuiness added a two run home run.

Jeff Locke is continuing his success with the Indians, earning his third win of the season. He gave up one run on five hits. He had 113 pitches in his six innings of work. Along with Bisons’ starter Ricky Romero, they combined for 12 walks (Locke, 5; Romero, 7) in 11 innings pitched.

In relief, Jay Jackson continued his scoreless innings pitched streak, which is up to four, following his two inning appearance on Tuesday night. Andy Oliver is serving his first season as only reliever struck out the side in the ninth.

Vance Worley will take the mound for Wednesday’s afternoon game. Game time is 1:35 p.m.
