Hey Cougs! College is expensive and with the economy most of us struggle to pay for college. We’re taking out loans and applying for scholarships.
Right now it’s time to fill out the FAFSA (the way to get money from the Federal Government) and going to websites like FastWeb and Scholarships.com to find as many scholarships as possible to cover all of the costs for next year.
There is a scholarship that I’m competing for at Spring Arbor. It’s a Spring Arbor Foundation scholarship for communication majors. There is some criteria that you have to meet, and I don’t know what it is exactly, but all I know is that they sent me an email saying that I qualified and should write an essay about a book.
That book is Bob Briner’s Roaring Lambs: A Gentle Plan to Radically Change Your World. I haven’t begun reading it yet, but I’m excited to see how, as a communication major, I can change the world that I live in. If it tells me how to radically change my world, then I’m going to have to share with you how you can use it to radically change your world.
It’s okay to be worried about money going into college life. How are you going to get enough quarters to do all of your loads of laundry? Am I going to get a job on campus? How am I going to pay for books? Will I be able to do stuff off campus? Am I going to be able to buy all of my groceries and snacks? Don’t worry, some of those questions still remain unanswered for me, but it’s okay because God always provides. You should worry about nothing since God is involved.
Happy Scholarship Hunting!
Catch ya later, Cougs!
