After leading the Idaho High School Activities Association (IHSAA) for eight years as executive director, John Billetz has announced his retirement.

Billetz replaced Bill Young in 2006. Young had spent 18 years as the IHSAA before retiring.

Before taking the executive director position, Billetz spent 11 years as the Post Falls (Idaho) High School principal. He was also the principal at Burley (Idaho) High School and athletic director at Minico (Idaho) High School. He was also had stints as the football coach at Burley, Minico and Gooding (Idaho) High School.

Billetz’s retirement will be effective June 30, 2014. His successor will be announced at an IHSAA Board of Directors meeting on January 22, 2014.
