Hey Cougars! I bet you all thought that I don’t take classes, since all I do is cover sports and special events. However, that isn’t true. I’m a hard working college student like the rest of people around here!

For all of you who don’t know, I’m a communications major. Why communications you ask? Well I have to be good at talking to people or I wouldn’t be a good mascot. The coolest part is sitting around a table with other communication majors and figuring out how I can be better at communicating. I even take writing classes to make myself a better blogger.

I absolutely love classes on campus. You get hooked up with people that you don’t really know, especially when you get into classes that are involved with your major. Your professors encourage you to make contacts with the outside world.

One of my classes was all about how to use online tools to better your news writing skills. Have you ever heard of a Twitter list? I hadn’t even heard of it before, but it makes using Twitter a thousand times easier. All you do is make lists of certain people that you’re following and then you can just see all the tweets from that list. It sounds wonderful, especially since I follow so many sports people!!

Classes may be fun, but I also have lots of work to do. I read often, write often and somehow manage to cheer at games. It is very exciting and very busy. I sometimes wonder when I’ll have time to sleep.

So, for all you potential Cougars out there, be prepared. College classes are hard, but they are so worth it!!
