Buzzer-beaters abound this high school basketball season

This high school basketball season has had its fair share of buzzer-beating moments. Below are some of the best shots caught on video from the 2013-14 season.

The 80-Foot Buzzer Beater

Alameda (California) St. Joseph Notre Dame High School vs. El Cerrito (California) High School

St. Joseph Notre Dame’s Temidayo Yussuf, following the rebound of a missed El Cerrito free throw, took an 80-foot shot that sent the game into overtime. El Cerrito won the game in overtime, 71-64. (Video found via Yahoo Sports!)

 

The Double-Pass to Buzzer Beating 3-pointer

Elk Grove (California) Pleasant Grove High School vs. Sacramento (California) Sheldon High School

This game-winning shot includes an inbounds pass to midcourt then another pass to T.J. Lindsey, in the corner of the court, who took the three-pointer to win the game. In this three-second play, the ball never touches the ground and Pleasant Grove won 66-63. (Video found via Yahoo Sports!)

 

The “I Practice Trick Shots” Buzzer Beater

Wichita (Kansas) Heights High School vs. Wichita (Kansas) Southeast High School

Ealy Bell, a senior at Heights High School, told “The Wichita Eagle” he practices trick shots all the time. In his team’s 65-62 win, Bell’s practice comes in handy as he chased down a teammate’s missed free throw, stole the ball from a defender and took the game-winning three-pointer all with 2.8 seconds on the game clock. The One Player + Consecutive Games = 2 Buzzer Beaters

Bentonville (Arkansas) High School vs. Springdale (Arkansas) High School

Bentonville (Arkansas) High School vs. Fayetteville (Arkansas) High School

In one week, Malik Monk helped his team win two games with buzzer beating three-pointers. The first gave the boys of Bentonville a 57-56 come-from-behind victory over Springdale. The second allowed Bentonville to avoid overtime and defeat Fayetteville 52-49. (Videos found viaYahoo Sports!)

 

The Game Winning Shot That Never Was

Grandview (Washington) High School vs. Prosser (Washington) High School

A game-winning layup by Grandview senior, Bryce Carpenter didn’t end the game as expected. Instead the ball sat on the rim and led to overtime. Grandview would ultimately win the game, 72-70, in overtime. (Video found via Yahoo Sports!)
