RECENT RESULTS: The Tigers lost the series opener vs. the Brewers 3-2 on Monday night at Comerica Park. J.D. Martinez had a pair of hits, including a double, for Detroit, while Ian Kinsler and James McCann each had a hit and a RBI. Kyle Lobstein started for the Tigers and was saddled with the loss after allowing three runs on seven hits with one walk and three strikeouts in 6.2 innings. The Tigers and Brewers play game two of their three game Interleague series tonight. Following the series vs. Milwaukee, the Tigers continue their seven-game homestand as they host the Astros in a four-game series this weekend.

TRIPLE TROUBLE: The Tigers hit their 15th triple of the year last night as Miguel Cabrera hit a three-base hit in the third inning. For Cabrera, the triple was the 16th of his career and his first since July 8, 2014 vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers. Detroit’s 15 triples this season leads the American League and is the most they’ve had through the first 39 games of a season since the 2005 team had 18 triples after 39 games.

WHAT A RELIEF: The Tigers bullpen worked 2.1 scoreless innings in last night’s game. In the month of May, Detroit has a 1.31 (41.1IP/6ER) bullpen ERA, which is the best in the majors. For the season, the Tigers have a 2.95 (103.2IP/34ER) bullpen ERA, which ranks fourth in the American League.

CABRERA, KINSLER NEARING CAREER MILESTONES: Miguel Cabrera and Ian Kinsler enter tonight’s game within reach of career milestones. Cabrera is one RBI away from 1,400 in his major league career, while Kinsler needs one more double to reach the 300 doubles mark in his career.

THE NEED FOR SPEED: The Tigers stole three bases in last night’s game, marking the eighth time this season that they have swiped multiple bases in a game. As a team, Detroit has 35 stolen bases, which ranks second in the American League. Rajai Davis ranks tied for sixth in the AL with nine stolen bases, while Anthony Gose is tied for eighth with seven steals and Jose Iglesias is tied for 10th with six stolen bases.

STREAKING: Jose Iglesias and J.D. Martinez each enter tonight’s game with a nine-game hitting streak, while Miguel Cabrera has a six-game hitting streak. Iglesias is batting .333 (11×33) with a run scored and three RBI during his hitting streak, while Martinez is hitting .406 (13×32) with five runs scored, two doubles, two home runs and two RBI over his last nine games. Cabrera is batting .417 (10×24) with seven runs scored, a double, a triple, four home runs and nine RBI over his last six games. The nine-game hitting streaks for Iglesias and Martinez are tied for the second-longest active hitting streak in the American League.

AMONG THE BEST IN INTERLEAGUE PLAY SINCE 2006: The Tigers have posted a 109-64 record, a .630 winning percentage, during Interleague play since the start of the 2006 season. The .630 winning percentage during Interleague action is second-best among major league clubs during that stretch. The Boston Red Sox have compiled a 111-61 record, a .645 winning percentage, during Interleague play over that stretch.

ALL-STAR VOTING OPEN NOW: Voting has started for Major League Baseball’s 86th All-Star Game held at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.
